In January, I contacted Relevant Magazine about doing a piece on the World Race. After a few conversations with the editorial staff, several drafts of frustrated rewriting (I'm a perfectionist), and some pre-wedding planning, I sent them the final copy of the article the day before I got married.

Fast forward a month and a half...

Yesterday, I stepped into Barnes and Noble (with my wife Ashley documenting the whole dramatic scene on video) to pick up the March/April issue of Relevant and see my first major publishing as a writer. It was kind of surreal. I read the article last night and don't remember writing most of it, but maybe that's because I was a day away from getting married!

Anyway, I encourage you to find a bookstore that carries Relevant and pick it up. The whole issue is really great; it's their 5-year anniversary issue, and it's all about changing the world. Here's a summary of the article:

When Eric Hanson embarked on a missions-oriented race around the world, serving in poverty-stricken areas and experiencing new cultures, he didn't quite know what to expect. But after spending time with Buddhist monks in Cambodia, ministering in Mozambique and seeing the world with World Race, Hanson has a new outlook on what God is doing around the globe.
