Life as a Missionary by Jeff Goins on 11/23/2008
The other night,
my wife Ashley and I hung out with our friends the Grays. We had a blast eating dinner, talking about business and ministry, and playing Cranium (boys against girls - boys won!). Ash and I have some great friends, and we were glad to spend an evening with Zach and Jody, just laughing and being goofy together. After a couple stressful weeks for the both of us, we really needed to unwind like that.
To all the friends who have been there for us and didn't know it: Thank you. You've been a far greater encouragement than you may even realize. Nothing is a better representation of the Body of Christ than friends simply sharing their lives together.
The Grays are professional photographers here in Tennessee, and if you're looking for someone to book for an upcoming event, I'd highly recommend them. Check out
Gray Photography, their photo business. Not only are they a couple of
great wedding photographers in the Nashville area, but they are also an example of how Christians can demonstrate excellence in business and still use the opportunity as a ministry.
Zach and Jody have worked with musicians, professional football players, and others on all kinds of shoots. Just one example of how they go above and beyond in serving their clients is that they give a free copy of a
book on the first year of marriage to every couple. Since the book helped them so much in their marriage, they wanted to pass it on. They even gave us a copy of this when we got married, and it's been great to read together. In my opinion, we need more people like this who do their jobs really, while sharing the Gospel through their work ethic, discipline, and love.
Thanks, guys!
Here are a few of their photos (taken by them and of them):
At different times, we all need someone to come alongside us and pick us up. The Grays did that for us the other night.
It's a question that's at least worth asking: Who encourages you?
